After careful consideration, KROHNE and SAMSON have decided to discontinue production of FOCUS-1 by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Despite its technological innovation, demand for FOCUS-1 has remained significantly below expectations over several years. Furthermore, continuing the product would require substantial investment in further development to meet future market requirements.
KROHNE and SAMSON sincerely thank all customers for their trust and partnership in adopting FOCUS-1. Both companies will continue to support existing installations for a defined period. The contact persons are available at any time to answer questions.

This multifunctional smart flow control instrument – developed by FOCUS-ON, a SAMSON and KROHNE company – combines sensors, actuator and control functionality in one device.
Traditional installations for control tasks in process plants usually consist of several sensors, a control valve and a DCS with control algorithms.
By combining all these components in one device, FOCUS-1 simplifies the installation dramatically and reduces significantly the number of flanges, cables and I/O points. A saving of +/- 33% on CAPEX expenditure can be achieved!
By measuring flow, pressure and temperature simultaneously and regulating its valve function independently, all specified set points can be accurately and reliably achieved.
